My Testimonial
ALL Town supporters know how special our club is.
We have a wonderful history, fantastic tradition and — after a few difficult times along the way — a future which looks bright and successful.
I feel honoured to have been part of that glorious past, delighted to be involved in the present and looking forward, hopefully, to helping us achieve further success in the very near future.
It's a huge privilege for me, therefore, having spent much of my career with my hometown club and having supported them all my life, to be granted a testimonial by Town.
I thank the chairman Ken Davy, chief executive Andrew Watson and the board of directors for their support, in addition to manager Peter Jackson, his staff and my playing colleagues both past and present.
Before I go any further, I have to say that everything I've achieved in my career, both here and at Sheffield Wednesday, would not have been possible without the unstinting support and encouragement of my family, and I can't thank them enough for that. They have been there every step of the way and have shared all the highs and heartaches which are part of professional football.
Thankfully, I have wonderful memories of playing for England, doing battle in the Premiership, winning trophies at Wembley and the Millennium Stadium and wearing the famous blue and white stripes of Town — so there have been many more highs than lows.
My biggest ‘thank you' in this testimonial year is reserved, however, for one very special group of people — you, the supporters. Ever since my earliest days at the club, and right through to the present day, I've had nothing but the most fantastic support from the terraces at Leeds Road and the stands at the Galpharm Stadium and I will remain eternally grateful for that.
I hope each and every one of you enjoys the events organised for my testimonial — I must thank my committee, under the guidance of chairman Glenn Paxman, who have put in a tremendous amount of work — and I can only underline how proud I am to be from Huddersfield and to play for Town.
With my very best wishes and heartfelt thanks

Andy Booth
